We’re officially kicking off our Frank & Oak Neighborhood Guide by exploring the neighborhood we call home: Montreal’s Mile End.
The most recognizable part of Mile End has to be the Church of St. Michael and St. Anthony. Around the turn of the century, Mile End was home to a large Irish population and this Byzantine-styled Catholic church, founded in 1915, was built to support that community. Later, as the Polish population grew, the church merged and brought the two communities together under one roof. Speaking of the roof, the interior of the dome features a beautiful  neo-Renaissance mural of St. Michael.  1/5 #FnONeighborhoodGuide #montreal
