If you find yourself in Mile End, you can’t leave without grabbing a Montreal-style bagel.
In contrast to New York’s bagels the Montreal bagel is smaller and denser, with a larger hole, and is always baked in a wood-fired oven. It’s also sweeter as it’s boiled in honey-sweetened water before baking.
Grab one at St-Viateur Bagel (pictured) or Fairmount Bagel a block down. 3/5 #fnoneighborhoodguide #montreal (at St-Viateur Bagel Shop)
